Floorjack Auto Repair · Off I-17 near Happy Valley Rd
After Hours Key Drop
The shop runs Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, which is the same workday most of our customers have. When those hours do not fit, text or call, and once you have heard back you can leave the vehicle and post the key through the slot.

Leaving It After Five

Text or Call First
Send a text or ring the shop before you drive over. Year, make and model, what the vehicle is doing, and the best number to reach you on. Wait until you have heard back.

Post the Key in the Slot
The door is round the back of the building, marked Sweet D in white script. Under the Floorjack Speed decal there is a slot labelled KEYDROP. That is the one. Same address as the front office, 21242 N. Black Canyon Hwy, Suite D, and the map pin (opens in a new tab) takes you to the same building.
Who Uses It
Who Leaves a Car Overnight
Mostly people whose own hours are the shop's hours. A commuter who cannot spend a Tuesday morning in a waiting room. Somebody on a swing shift who gets home at eleven. A driver who has finished a run and would rather hand the vehicle over that night than drive the I-17 back up here at eight the next morning.
The vehicle is already here when the shop opens, so the morning does not wait on you getting across town. If waiting for it suits you better, the front office has seating and the directions and hours are on the contact page.
The Next Morning
What Happens Once We Open
Handing over a key at night should not mean giving up the say you would have had standing at the counter.
-
Work is done without you needing to be there.
The vehicle is already here when the shop opens. Javen calls you before it is touched, so the only thing the job waits on is your go-ahead over the phone.
-
The inspection comes with photos.
Every vehicle gets a digital inspection, sent to you, so you see the worn part instead of reading about it.
-
You pick up at your convenience.
The price is set before the work starts and nothing gets done that you have not approved, so the only thing left when you come for it is the keys.
Worth It or Not
Jobs That Suit Leaving It
A drop earns its keep on work that needs time on the lift and time on the road. On a short job it is usually slower than waiting.
Leave It With Us
- An engine light nobody has got to the bottom of. Diagnosis takes bench time and road time, and neither goes well with somebody watching the clock in the lobby.
- An electrical fault that comes and goes, the kind that only shows itself on a cold start.
- Brake work or AC work that could turn out to be bigger once the wheel is off or the system is on the gauges.
- Diesel work on a truck you need back and earning for the rest of the week.
Wait For It Instead
- An oil change or a filter. It is quicker to sit through than to arrange around.
- A tire rotation, or an alignment on a vehicle that is otherwise driving straight.
- A battery test, which takes minutes and tells you on the spot.
- A look over before a road trip, where the point is talking it through with the tech.
Common Questions
Before You Drive Over
If the answer you want is not here, text the shop and ask. Same number as the one at the top of the page.
Text (623) 363-5990Do I Need to Text or Call Before I Leave the Car?
Yes. Send a text or ring the shop and wait to hear back before you drive over. A key posted with nobody expecting it is a car nobody is looking for, and the text is also where we get the year, make and model.
Where Is the Key Drop?
Round the back of the building, same address as the front office. The door is marked Sweet D in white script with the Floorjack Speed decal under it, and the slot below the decal is labelled KEYDROP.
What Should I Tell You When I Text?
Year, make and model, what the vehicle is doing, and the best number to reach you on. If you need it back by a particular day, say so, because that is easier to plan around when we know it up front.
Does Anything Get Done Before I Approve the Price?
No. Javen calls you before the vehicle is touched, every job gets a digital inspection with photos sent to you, and the price is set before the work starts. A key drop is handled the same way a walk in is.
Is a Key Drop Worth It for a Short Job?
Usually not. An oil change or a tire rotation is quicker to wait for than to arrange around. Leaving the vehicle pays off on the jobs that need diagnosis time, like an engine light nobody has got to the bottom of or an intermittent electrical fault.
Getting Here
Driving In From Around the North Valley
Suite D is off I-17 at Happy Valley Road, on the frontage road running alongside the freeway, so an evening drop is a short detour for most of the North Valley rather than a trip across town.
Schedule Service
During the Day, Book a Slot
If your hours do let you get here between 8am and 5pm, the scheduler holds you a time and takes the vehicle details up front. It works outside shop hours too, so you can book the slot the same night you would have dropped the key.
