A vehicle on an open desert highway winding past red rock formations in Arizona

Tire and wheel alignment across the Phoenix metro

Your tires are the only part of the vehicle that touches the road, so how they wear and how straight they roll decides how the car handles and how long a set lasts. Two things drive that: the tires themselves, and the alignment that keeps them square to the road. Get either wrong and you feel it as a pull, a shimmy, or a set of tires worn out thousands of miles early. Floorjack Auto Repair handles tires and alignment for drivers across the Phoenix metro, from North Phoenix and Deer Valley to Scottsdale and the West Valley.

Signs your alignment or tires need attention

A car that drifts toward the shoulder on a flat road, a steering wheel that sits off-center, or a vibration that comes in at highway speed all point to alignment or balance. The tires tell the rest of the story. Feathered edges, one shoulder worn smooth while the other looks new, or bald spots mean the wheels are not tracking straight or the tire is out of balance. Caught early, it is an alignment. Left alone, it is an alignment plus a new set of tires.

Why the Valley is hard on tires

Two things wear tires here. The first is heat. Hot pavement and long summer days soften the rubber and speed up wear, and an underinflated tire builds even more heat and wears faster still. The second is the roads. Potholes, expansion joints, and curb strikes around the metro knock alignment out of spec and bend the occasional rim, and neither shows on the odometer. Checking pressure and alignment is the cheapest way to get the full mileage out of a set.

The Floorjack approach

Every tire and alignment job starts with a look at what the vehicle actually needs and a number you approve before we begin. We measure the alignment on the rack, show you where it sits against spec, and tell you what is genuinely out and what is fine. When you need tires, we walk you through options for your budget instead of steering you to the priciest set. As a UTI-trained, GM-certified shop that works on all makes, we give a family crossover, an import, and a lifted work truck the same careful setup, and American First Finance is there if a full set lands at a bad time.

Questions

Tire & Wheel Alignment questions, answered

How do I know my wheels are out of alignment?

The clearest sign is the car pulling to one side on a straight, level road, or a steering wheel that sits crooked when you are going straight. Uneven tire wear is the other tell: run your hand across the tread and if one edge is feathered or worn down while the rest looks fine, the alignment is off. A clunk or loose feel in the steering usually means a worn tie rod, which we check at the same time.

How often should I get an alignment?

Once a year is a good baseline, and any time you put on new tires so they start out wearing evenly. Beyond that, get it checked after you hit a hard pothole or curb, or if you notice a pull or crooked wheel. Around the Valley, potholes and curb strikes knock alignment out more often than mileage alone would suggest.

How much does an alignment or a set of tires cost?

An alignment is a set price we quote up front. Tires depend on the size and the brand you choose, and we walk you through options for your budget rather than pushing the most expensive set. Either way you get the number before we start, and American First Finance is there for a full set of tires if you would rather pay over time.

Do you align trucks, lifted vehicles, and all makes?

Yes, all makes and models, including lifted and lowered trucks that need adjustable components to dial in. Owner Javen is UTI-trained and GM-certified, so GM, Ford, and Dodge Ram go deepest, but every vehicle gets the same measurement on the alignment rack and the same honest quote.

Why do my tires wear out so fast in Phoenix?

Heat is the reason. Hot pavement and high summer temperatures soften the rubber and speed up wear, and an underinflated or misaligned tire wears even faster in that heat. Checking pressure and alignment is the cheapest way to get the miles you paid for out of a set of tires here.
